The Torbay motorshow is a day out for the family which will take place on Easter Saturday 4th April 2015.
The day will have a little something for all auto enthusiasts and the show will include:
- Cars (Custom, hot rods, veteran and kit cars)
- Rally, race and hill climb Cars
- Classic Cars
- Retro Cars and many more vehicles
As part of the show classic buses will return to the roads of Torbay, when thanks to the enthusiasts who run the Devon and Dorset Group charitable trust, two old buses will be giving free passenger rides along the picturesque coast of the English Riviera.
The oldest bus at the show will be the Leyland Atlantean double decker which was built in 1960 and delivered to Devon General on 20th May 1960 and was operated out of the Torquay depot until October 1970. Whilst the youngest is the Volvo B6LE single decker which arrived in the bay in 1997.
The First Of Many
The Torbay Motor Show will be the first of a new series of motor shows. With support from Alan Jeffrey’s Plymouth based ‘Engine Tuner’ concern, in conjunction with local Torbay businessmen – and confirmed petrol heads – Martyn Strange and Simon De Vey, the event should be a cracking way to get the 2015 tourist season underway.
Showcasing all that is good in the automotive sector in Torbay and South Devon the event has attracted dealers, traders, car clubs and lots of special vehicles on display. There is a massive interest in cars and bikes locally, and this will be a great opportunity for enthusiasts to gather at this one big show.
There will be a show and shine competition with class awards, as well as the all important award for ‘Best in Show’, as well as a photographic competition and an Easter egg hunt for the children. The proceeds raised from the show cars and visitors, will go to our chosen local charity ‘ACE’ (Access to Community Education) of Brixham, so a good turn-out will be a great help to them.
A Day Out For The Family
Making it an ideal day out for all of the family, there will also be all the usual tourist features of Paignton at Easter time, including the popular Geo-Park, fun fair and the newly updated pier. Add in the beach, local shops, restaurants and pubs and what’s not to like.
Come to the Torbay Motor Show, it should be a great Easter day out for all of the family. Why not come down to Torbay for the Easter weekend, take in the motor show and then spend the rest of your time taking advantage of everything the bay has to offer.
Where else can you display your car and hope to win an award in the ‘show and shine’ competition, whilst at the same time taking the chance to visit the beach and maybe catch a wave or two on your kayak, paddle or surf board?
Paignton Green just has to be the ultimate venue.
There will be restaurants and pubs nearby
