A Family Guide to… the Motorhome & Caravan Show
With caravans and motorhomes spread out across an area equivalent to 12 Premier League football pitches, there is more than enough to keep the family entertained at the NEC’s Motorhome & Caravan Show!
Last year more than 100,000 people attended and this year promises to be better than ever. The Motorhome & Caravan Show is the only national, new product launch event of its kind in the country. This year it’s being opened by keen caravanner and former F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell, and TV journalist and presenter Fiona Bruce.
There’s also the amazing Caravisio ‘Caravan of the Future’, on display in the UK for the first time, featuring fingerprint entry, smartphone control and design inspired by modern yachts. It’s truly a glimpse into tomorrow’s world featuring quirky and interactive designs that kids will love!
Whether your family is looking to get into the hobby for the first time, or perhaps are already seasoned enthusiasts, then no other place offers so much choice, from all the leading brands like Airstream and Swift.
From motorhomes to caravans, campervans, trailer tents, folding caravans, luxury lodges, caravan holiday homes, accessories, campsites, destinations and much, much more you can explore it all under one roof.
Parents will also get the chance to try towing a caravan and learn how to drive a motorhome, under expert tuition, with the Show’s free taster sessions. What’s more, tickets include free parking, free Show Guide and (best of all) kids go free!
As well shows in the Experts’ Theatre, featuring cookery demonstrations and exciting giveaways, there’s also a chance for the family to try electric bikes.
Meanwhile, you can take your children along to find out about Jofli Bear, and his new book. Finally, if the children do get tired but Dad’s still trying to broker a great deal on a flat-pack BBQ, you can leave them in the care of our fully qualified and registered staff at the Crèche (located in Concourse Suites 21-23 in the Atrium).
So what are you waiting for? Get on down to The NEC for a truly fantastic family day out!

The NEC is situated 8 miles East of Birmingham city centre; its central location ensures it is at the hub of the UK motorway network. Visitors from any direction can travel to The NEC site directly using the following motorways – M1, M5, M6, M6 Toll, M40 and M42.
The NEC is signposted on motorways and major roads – see map for more.
Parking is free and allocated on arrival. Strictly no overnight parking is allowed on the site. Disabled parking is available, but cannot be pre-booked.
Using Sat Nav?
Enter the postcode B40 1NT to pinpoint the NEC. Please be aware that the Sat Nav system will not direct you into an onsite car park. Please follow the clearly signposted directions once in the vicinity of the venue. As a free flowing alternative to the M6, the M6 Toll offers reliably shorter journey times through the West Midlands. It runs between Junctions 4 and 11 of the M6, and there is easy access to The NEC from Junction T1 of the toll road.
Shuttle Buses & Taxis:
Shuttle Buses run continuously for free around site between the car parks and the halls during exhibitions, normally commencing one hour before and finishing one hour after the exhibition.
Operating times are shown at the bus stops. The NEC’s aim is for you to wait no longer than 15 minutes – but they do say there may be delays caused by volume of traffic around the venue during peak times.
If you choose to walk from the car parks, you can follow the finger post signage to the halls.
Are usually available outside the Piazza main entrance, Atrium 1 entrance and Atrium 3 entrance when shows are taking place at The NEC.
